The Holidays

The Holidays are over and so is the hustle and bustle of fighting the crowds at the mall. All of the shopping, buying and wrapping the gifts you bought is done. Now, off to the store to buy the food for your Christmas and New Year dinners.

After all of the cooking is done, you sit down with family or friends to give Thanks and eat, and it always seems that everybody eats too much.

When the meal is done, the men go sit and watch TV, while the women clean up the leftovers and the dishes. The kids play with the toys “Santa” brought them, while the men end up sleeping.

If this sounds all too familiar to you, I’ll stop here and let you fill in the blanks on whatever happens at your house.

After the New Year comes and goes, we go back to work and start to think about how we are going to pay those credit card bills that we know are coming.

Those same credit card bills that are now added to our other bills such as our house payment, car payment, utilities, insurance, gas for our cars, etc.

If you can write a check to pay your credit card bills in full, CONGRATULATIONS! Most of us aren’t that fortunate. We are more likely only able to pay the minimum payment and now the interest starts adding up.

We think that maybe we shouldn’t have spent so much on gifts and such but, “Hey, IT’S CHRISTMAS!” When we think about our bills, we think about how we might make some extra money to pay a little more than just the minimum payment.

Maybe our boss will let us work some overtime, maybe. We might even think about getting a part-time job, just for a little while. Or we might consider how we can cut back on things like not buying as much food or not eating out as much.

Enough of the depressing thoughts. I do have GOOD NEWS! The good news might not help us this year, but next year and the years ahead, the good news can help.

Here is the good news: How about starting your own home based business? Now, I know you might think I’m crazy. Starting a business can cost Thousands or at least Hundreds of dollars. Please just hear me out.

My Wife and I started our own home business and it didn’t cost us an arm and a leg. In fact it didn’t cost us Hundreds of dollars. We even get to help other people. We can work as much or as little as we want to.

We want to be debt free as soon as possible, and working from home will get us there. I’ll have to “retire” sooner than later due to health issues, but the beauty is: I can still work from home!

Working To Make Someone Else Rich

Working to make someone else rich. That thought hits me like a ton of bricks. I have been doing that all my life. Why? Maybe we have been conditioned to work for someone else.

Growing up, we watched as one or both of our parents left home to go to work. That was normal. It happened each & everyday. We expected it. That’s the way life was.

As I’ve gotten older and realized I have been working for years making someone else rich, I also realized I HATE IT! It’s time I worked to make myself rich. Why Not?

I’ve seen others do it. Pro Athletes, Movie Stars, Musicians and the list goes on and on. I did some soul searching and thought “Why Not Me?” Who says I have to work a lifetime for someone else? Why can’t I work for myself?

I’m tired of waking up early to an alarm clock, being told when to be at work, when to take a break, when to go to lunch, when to be back from lunch and when to go home.

It seems the more you do for someone else the more they want, so my Wife & I decided to start our own business from our home. We still work outside of home for now, but I look forward to the day when we won’t have to answer to an alarm clock or a boss.

I still work hard, but I’m working at home to build OUR DREAMS, not someone else’s. In fact, I look forward to coming home and working OUR business. The decision to start our own business was not an easy one.

We searched for a number of months before choosing one. This is a company that provides services that we all use almost all the time.

I have a friend who is very successful in this business. In fact He and his family once took a 7 week vacation. That may be hard to believe, but it’s true. What company or job will let you do that? I can’t think of any.

Working our business does take effort on my part, but I focus on our dreams & goals, not on the hard work. In fact it’s fun. I can work as long as I want to and take a break when I want to, with NO BOSS watching over me.

Do you have Dreams & Goals you would love to see become reality? It is possible. Why not build your own future now? Work to make yourself rich and retire when you want to. Do what you want, when you want, with whom you want, for as long as you want. If you are ready to make a change in your life, click on the link below. Make the decision that life doesn’t revolve around a boss. Be Your Own Boss!

Your Comfort Zone

Everyone has a comfort zone. It could be a favorite room in your home, a friend’s home, your office or wherever. We all have our own comfort zone. With most of us it’s our job. We go to work, do the same thing over and over everyday.

We work our jobs, but most of us hate our jobs. For the most part we work for the same company, the same boss, doing the same job or task month after month, year after year, for 5, 10, 15 years or more. Most of us will retire from the company we have worked for, for years.

We might get a pension or retirement package, but will it be enough to live on comfortably for the rest of our lives? Most workers will retire when they reach their mid sixties.

Not to be morbid or anything like that, but how much longer will we live past our mid sixties? Social Security, if it’s still around in 10 or more years, won’t be close enough for us to live a comfortable life after we retire. Most of us will have to get a part-time job, just to make ends meet.

If we do get a part-time job, is that really retirement? Here’s an example. My own Dad retired, but took a part-time job at Walmart as a door greeter. He really wasn’t retired, he just worked part-time.

I am an aluminum boat welder. I’ve been welding for over 7 years, so I guess you can say that’s my comfort zone. The only thing about it is, “I HATE IT!”

I hate working for someone else. Having to get up early, drive to work, work until they say I can take a break, when I can go to lunch, when to be back from lunch and when I can go home. Some comfort zone huh?

If I were a betting man I’d say it’s probably the same with you. I’m tired of it, so my Wife and I started our own business from home. After looking for a business we would be comfortable with we decided to start a business that helps people who don’t have insurance or any kind of medical benefits.

To us, helping others, now that’s a great comfort zone. We are looking forward to helping as many people as we can. With the cost of health care these days, people need insurance. If they can’t get insurance, we have an alternative.

How about you? Would you be willing to step out of your comfort zone and help others? I promise, it won’t hurt and I’m sure you’ll feel good about it.

I’d Rather Fight Than Switch!

Back when I was a kid, I remember a saying that went something like this,“I’d rather fight than switch.” I think it had to do with cigarettes.

As I’ve gotten older, I look back and think about the times when I could have done different things in my life. Maybe a different job, place to live, car that I owned, etc.

I sometimes wonder if my life would have been different if I would have made a switch, rather than fight making that switch. Back when I was younger, I worked as a cook in a restaurant and I was pretty good.

My grandfather told me I needed to do something better, something that paid more. I didn’t want to hear that so I just kept cooking. A few years later the restaurant closed and I didn’t have anything to fall back on. He was right.

Looking back I wish I would have applied myself to learning something that I could make a career out of, but I have to admit, I was lazy. I just took whatever I could find.

Now that I’m older (and hopefully wiser), I have finally found a business that I can call my own. I have a lot to learn, but I am applying myself and trying to learn as much as I can.

I have a great teacher, coach, mentor, whatever you want to call it, I’m learning. Back when I was younger “I’d Rather Fight Than Switch,” and I was WRONG!

I have realized that I should have taken my grandfather’s advice and made a switch to something better. I guess better late than never.

What I am doing now, is helping people who need help. There are people who don’t have any health benefits, prescription benefits or dental benefits. The business my wife and I are in offer a way for people to get the care they need at a discount of what they normally would pay.

I regret having the “I’d Rather Fight Than Switch” mind set back then. I look forward to helping as many people as we can.

If you would like to help others, you can. It’s never too late. Just click on the link below and you can find out how to make a difference in other people’s lives as well as your own.
